Dave Ramsey’s
Financial Peace University February 23 to April 26, 7pm in Lee Hall

Register here.

The Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University (FPU) classes will run for 9 weeks with April 6th being skipped due to Easter week. Classes will be held in Lee Hall and members of the United Methodist Men group will provide support.
The FPU classes have been offered around the USA and World for over 25 years and have helped over 1,500,000 Families find financial peace. This world just wants you to buy, buy, buy on credit with out concern for the emotional and financial stress that it places on individuals and families. How many marriages have failed, or personal bankruptcies have happened because of this.

The Dave Ramsey FPU program provides proven life changing lessons on how everyone should control their money rather than it controlling them and FPU is all based on biblical Christian principles. Attendees will learn how to pay off debt fast, save more money, and build lasting wealth.

The classes are open to individuals, but entire Families are encouraged to attend. We are encouraging all members of Wesleyan to consider attending and to reach out to your Family, neighbors, and friends to encourage them to attend these classes. Bring your teenagers or older children. Husbands and wives are encouraged to attend together if possible. Everyone should take control of your money with Financial Peace University! This nine-week class uses biblical wisdom and common sense to help you tackle budgeting, pay off debt, build wealth and make your money work for you!
For more information visit these links:

The cost of the 9 week class and one year access to the Ramsey FPU advice and help on line is $70 per family. It is ok to bring everyone in the Family for this one price. One hard bound text workbook is provided and the one-year access to all of the FPU materials on line. Register soon!

The twelve-week class is intended to guide the youth in this process as they learn about God, the scriptures, and the Christian faith, in the Wesleyan tradition. Students will be guided by parents, mentors, as well as the Pastors in this program.
Confirmation typically happens in a student’s 6th grade year, however if you are older (7th-12th grade) you can still participate in Confirmation. Register here.

New Group for Parents

Parents with children in K5 Alive and MYF started a group to explore options and develop a space where they can discuss Jesus’ teachings and how they apply to parenting and the world today. The first group discussions will focus on questions that Jesus asks and the difficult sayings of Jesus. This group is not exclusive to parents and there is not a requirement that children attend K5 Alive or MYF. Class is Sundays at 9:45 in Room 2 Lee Hall. Please consider attending if you’re looking for something new and are interested in being a part of an adult class.

Ministry Item of the Month

Some United Methodist Churches and Pastors have come together to provide a “Pop-up Shelter” on nights that get very cold in the winter.  On those nights, a meal is usually provided as well as warm blankets and a safe and warm place to sleep at Trinity UMC in Wilmington.  Our help is needed.  Please donate as you are able for this month’s Ministry Item of the Month.  The needs are: paper products (plates, cups, utensils), coffee, powdered creamer, Lysol aerosol spray, cleaners in spray bottles (like Clorox Spray or Mr. Clean).  Place items in the Ministry Item bins outside the Sanctuary in the hallway near the choir room.

Stephen Ministry

A Stephen Minister is a congregation member with gifts for caregiving and has received training in providing emotional and spiritual care.  It is someone who will “be there” to listen, care, pray, support and encourage.

We all experience challenges in life and a Stephen Minister is equipped to walk beside you in times of:

A chronic or terminal illness
Loss of a loved one
Divorce or separation
Any many more

Stephen Ministry is a confidential Ministry.  The identity and what takes place remains private. Contact Miriam Shipp (910-777-8063) or Diane Croom (910-540-2097) for additional information.
