Youth Fellowship

Wesleyan Chapel sent twenty-one youth and adults to
the CLUB Winter Youth Retreat at the Blowing Rock Convention Center
on January 20-22.
We enjoyed a weekend of worship, music, speakers, seminars,
good food, a few hours of skiing or snowboarding, and safe travels.
Pastors Andy Lambert, Chris Thore, and Joel Elder
provided leadership along with Rep. Nelson Dollar, the CLUB Players,
Logan Thore, and the Christian band Hopealive from Georgia.
Our theme for the weekend was Mission Possible!
Thank you for your support of our youth group!

For Middle School & Senior High

Wesleyan Chapel’s United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) is an ongoing opportunity for  youth in grades 6-12 to gather, learn, build bonds of friendship, deepen their faith in God, share their gifts, and serve others in Christ’s name.  Weekly meetings are generally comprised of gathering time, snack (or on the first Sunday of each month, a meal), games, prayer, music, and a devotional. In addition, our youth participate in various activities and missions throughout the year. Included in these yearly activities are: Pilgrimage in the fall (a huge gathering of youth from the North Carolina Conference), a ski retreat in the winter, a camp weekend in the spring, and a senior high week-long mission trip in the summer. We also assist with sandwich making for the Good Shepherd house, Stop Hunger Now, Vacation Bible School, and other local mission projects.

All of these activities enable the youth to grow closer to each other as they grow closer to God, helping them form lasting relationships with their peers and others within the church and throughout the community.
We encourage youth to bring a friend or two or more to our regular youth group meetings–the more, the merrier!
